Careful planning will ensure that your beach wedding runs smoothly.
A beach wedding is a romantic dream. The combination of the sun, sand, water and ocean breezes make it a spectacular location for a wedding. Beach weddings are romantic and they often go smoothly when couples really plan out the event a seaside venue. When you are planning an outdoor wedding there are a few elements to consider.
1. Weather.
This is a typical concern for any outdoor wedding. Beaches tend to be open windy spots, so there are more weather concerns than if the wedding were to be held in a backyard. Ocean breezes can be strong and therefore anything that could blow away or tangle up in the wind should be secured. The heat of the sun can be intense at the beach and guest comfort should be considered. Guests should reminded to bring sunscreen and dress appropriately. If possible shade should be provided in the form of a canopy for the guests or bright colorful umbrellas. Rain is always a possibility, renting a tent or canopy is a great idea.
2. Sand.
If you prefer your wedding guests to sit rather than stand, it may be necessary to rent a floor for the ceremony. Chairs placed directly onto the sand tend to sink and become lopsided. It is perfectly acceptable for the guests to stand and allows them to view the ceremony from the best vantage point. A nice touch is a designated walk way leading to the area for the ceremony. This path can be a simple grass mat, a bed of stones or a pre formed stone walkways. Not only does it create a focal point for the bride but helps to designate the wedding location.
3. The Tide.
Special attention should be given to when the tide comes in and how far.
4. Sound.
Due to the windy, noisy nature of the beach sound is another consideration. The couple should think about having a sound system to broadcast their wedding so guests can hear.
5. If the beach does not have restrooms then the couple will have to rent those as well.
6. Another consideration for the couple to think about if using a public beach is that other people may be around. It is important to not stage the wedding in a popular spot. The rules of the beach must also be followed, so the couple should check those out ahead of time.
These are the major things couples often overlook when planning a beach wedding. Of course the size of the guest list may affect some of these considerations. Whether or not the reception will also be at the beach may bring on more things to think about as well.
