Dominica Marriage License Laws:

• Waiting period is 2 days before intended wedding date
• Statutory declaration on marital status obtained in Dominica in a lawyer’s presence
• The completed application form, obtainable from the Ministry of Community Development, Government Headquarters, must be presented to the registrar at the time of the marriage ceremony
• The registrar's office should be contacted for specific rules regarding planning your beach wedding in Dominica. They will also provide information regarding marriage licenses and marriage certificates.

Dominica Marriage License Fee:

• $110 US for a marriage license
• $184 US legal fees for the statutory declaration on marital status
• Marriages performed within the registrar’s office is an additional $11 US
• Outside the registrar’s office is an additional $48 USplus transportation
• A church wedding is an additional $40-$60 US

Identification Needed for a Dominica Marriage License:

• Birth certificate and proof of citizenship
• In the case of a divorce, a certified copy of the decree absolute must be presented
• A widow or widower must present the death certificate of a deceased spouse
• Two witnesses present at the ceremony

• According to Dominican Law a divorced woman has to wait 10 months before remarrying unless she is marrying the same man she divorced or she was divorced under special DR law. Then the ruling is a waiting period of 24 hours.
