British Virgin Islands Marriage License Requirements

British Virgin Islands Marriage License Laws:
- Apply for license at the Attorney Generals office in Tortola on the same day of arrival
- Waiting period is 3 days
- For weddings held in a local church, the wedding banns must be published on three consecutive Sundays or Saturdays prior to the ceremony in that church
- Consult with the manager or wedding coordinator at the resort you will be staying at to assist you with arrangements to secure your marriage license
British Virgin Islands Marriage License Fee:
$110 US (BVI postage stamps) for a Special License for those resident in the BVI for 3 days; $50 US (BVI postage stamps) for an Ordinary License for those resident in the BVI for 15 days or more.

Identification Needed for a British Virgin Islands Marriage License:
- Passport and date of arrival in the British Virgin Islands
- Proof of marital status
- Two witnesses to sign application form for license and to witness the ceremony
