Here are the requirements for being married in this beautiful destination location.

Belize Marriage License Laws:

  • Couples must reside in Belize three days. On the fourth day they can apply for the marriage license
  • The marriage license must be signed by the Justice of the Peace and can be picked up one to two days after it has been approved - this usually takes about 1 week
  • Consult with the manager of the resort you are staying at to help you make arrangements to secure your marriage license.

Belize Marriage License Fee:

$100 US - for the marriage license

Identification Needed for a Barbuda Marriage License:

  • Valid passport or driver’s with date of entry stamp or original birth certificate with raised seal
  • Proof of divorce or death certificate
  • Two witnesses present at the ceremony
  • Parental permission for parties under 18 years of age
